Relict Furies, for mezzo-soprano and double string orchestra, was commissioned by the Edinburgh International Festival and the New Zealand International Festival for Scottish Ensemble and Commonwealth Strings, with funding made available from Creative New Zealand. The libretto was written by Paul Horan.
