Icescape is the first New Zealand orchestral work to celebrate a passionate engagement with the unforgiving natural world of the Antarctic continent. Icescape was composed after Cree Brown's visit to Antarctica as part of the Artists to Antarctica programme under the auspices of Antarctica New Zealand supported by Creative New Zealand.

From the Composer

Icescape is an attempt to create an expressive piece that reveals some of the various moods of Antarctica, the diverse ice forms and my personal impressions of being on this precious continent... It is a place of immense beauty and is strikingly different - almost like another planet.
