Eden is the result of a request by Costas Siskos, a brilliant French horn soloist living in Athens Greece, for a composition showcasing his instrument. My first communication with Costas was in 2009, when he gave the European premiere of my Winter Solstice, for French horn and string orchestra with the Camerata Orchestra in Athens. 

When Costas announced to me in 2018 that he would be performing Winter Solstice again with the Athens State Orchestra in which he also served as principal horn, I decided that this was the opportunity for me to revisit this concerto and give it the form it should have had from the beginning. As it turned out, I happened to be in Greece at that time, so I attended the performance by Costas on June 1, at the Megaron in Athens. It was an amazing performance. During that visit I had discovered a new champion for my music but, more importantly, an amazing human being and a great friend. His request in early 2021 for a new composition for horn was planted in already fertile ground.
