Calenture is comprised of four short movements that explore the inherent impressionistic possibilities of the electric guitar and piano duo as much as their obvious rhythmic potential. Harmonics are produced inside the piano, while elsewhere the guitarist employs an EBow (electronic bow) and effects pedals. The ensemble blends together as one through panning sonic motifs, which makes for a highly captivating and visceral listening experience.
Calenture is a disease incident to sailors in the tropics, characterised by a delirium in which, it is said, they fancy the sea to be green fields and desire to leap into it.
"Knowledge kindles calenture in some..." – John Donne
