The 2XP 10th Anniversary Fanfare which opens this volume was completed on 11 September 1962 and premiered at the New Plymouth Opera House on 29 September. Played by the Hawera Municipal Band under Harry Farrington, the fanfare introduced a gala concert celebrating the first decade of the radio station 2XP New Plymouth; Pruden neatly inserts the four-note opening motif of Happy Birthday To You at measure 16.
